This is a proposal for a competition for a train station in Kumamoto. The main concept of this project revolves around reinvisioning the whole site as a place for interaction and activity, both for the train-users and local residents. The long linear volume and the spacious plaza makes full use of the long shape of the site, and becomes a dynamic place for people to enjoy a spectacle.

くまもとアートポリスの駅舎コンペ公募案。駅を単なる交通のノードとして扱うのではなく、住民や来訪者のさまざまな活動の場として捉え直した提案。敷地一杯延びる駅舎と広場状のプラットフォームが単なる乗降の場を超えて、日常の憩いやピクニック、マルシェやお祭りといったさまざまなアクティビティの受け皿となることを目指した。
