We planned a privately operated experiential art facility in the Senami Onsen area of Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture, and I was responsible for the concept development. In this project, every activity taking place on the seaside site—weddings, concerts, workshops held by the local “town-making school,” and more—is regarded as a form of art, creating a landscape where diverse events unfold.Each program, from ceremonies to dining experiences, is curated by different artists who also serve as curators for specific periods. As a result, the experiences become site-specific artworks that exist nowhere else.By returning these experiences to the local community, the project aims to establish a new model for what a museum can be—one that differs from conventional “box-type” museums often criticized as isolated cultural facilities. Here, the museum emerges as a dynamic place where art and everyday life intertwine.

新潟県村上市瀬波温泉地区に私営の体験型アート施設を計画。そのコンセプトメイキングを担当した。結婚式場やコンサート、まちづくり学校で行われるワークショップなど、そこで行われる全ての体験をアートと捉え、海に面した敷地に多彩な事象が起こる様を作り出す。結婚式や飲食など全ての体験は期間ごとにキュレーターを兼ねる様々なアーティストによって企画され、サイトスペシフィックなアート作品として唯一無二のものとなる。これら体験は市民に還元されることでハコモノと揶揄されてきた今までの美術館とは異なる、新たな美術館像を生み出す。
