This is a proposal for a competition for a public restroom in Kumamoto. The site is located within a hilly national park, surrounded by lush greenery. We proposed an architecture with multiple layers of structural timber ribs. The ribs help the architecture blend with the surrounding nature, and create spaces of various sizes, from small units supporting basins and lightbulbs, to large enclosed restrooms units.
